This used and authentic look of the locomotive represents its look during 2019. So, actually, EA231 is in Arad depot park and it’s often seen at the “Dacia” and “Ister” trains. Because EA 231 was fitted with the Hungarian INDUSI Safety system, the officials from Bucharest decided that this locomotive (and two other class 477) would be more useful in Arad depot park where it could serve the high-speed International “Dacia” train in Romania and Hungary. They delivered it to Brasov depot where it served passenger trains for 10 years.
